AI joins the test team 🤖
Quick heads-up on where this blog is going next: I’m bringing AI into my day-to-day life as a tester, and I’ll be taking notes along the way. No hype, no magic wands, just what actually works (and what faceplants). 🎢
Here’s my shortlist of things to poke at 🔍:
- ✍️ Test case generation: can AI turn user stories into solid test ideas, or just very confident nonsense?
- 🧪 Test data: realistic, varied, and no real customers harmed in the process.
- 🛠️ Automation with an AI copilot: faster Playwright and Cypress scripts, as long as I still read what it wrote.
- 🩹 Flaky tests and self-healing: because chasing a locator that changed overnight is nobody’s idea of fun.
- 🔎 Failure and log analysis: letting AI do the first pass of “why did this break?”
- 🕵️ Exploratory testing sidekick: a second brain for “what if?” scenarios I haven’t thought of.
- 🧠 Testing AI itself: because someone has to ask the chatbot the awkward questions.
Ground rules: AI assists, I decide. Every experiment gets checked, and I’ll share the wins, the flops and the “well, that was unexpected” moments. 😄
Got a favourite use case or a good horror story? I’d love to hear it, though replies may be slow. Consider it a message in a bottle. 🍾
